Importance of using a Virus checkerAll of us at some point of the other have faced the nuisance of getting our computer infected with viruses. For computers with multiple users and some who are not really savvy about the internet this problem tends to be more serious. Most viruses penetrate from either opening attachments over email, downloading files, software that is corrupt and even while downloading music or games from friends. It is difficult if not impossible to avoid this menace without some sort of a virus checker which keeps a vigil on the files that are being downloaded or the pages that are being opened and warns you from getting infected and in most cases takes care of the infection as well. If you think a virus checker is not for you think again, the sources from which your PC can get infected are umpteen and even if you are careful in cases of multiple users some one else using your machine might not be as careful and get the system infected. The extent of damage that these viruses can do is really scary and in some cases they may even format your entire hard disk! Making you lose all your information and everything else that you would have gathered over years and would need in the future. The money spent on virus checkers is really worth it especially considering the fact that most of these get updated regularly and once the money is spent and you keep on updating them the chances of getting a virus reduces considerably as most of them do find a cure of the viruses pretty fast before they can reach you. If you are updating the virus checker frequently you can rest assured that the system will in all probability remain free of virus. Another common refrain that people use is that I had a virus checker last year and nothing happened so I guess I don’t need to renew it this year! It may well be the case that you didn’t get your computer infected precisely because you had a virus checker installed and for less than fifty dollars an year this security is really worth it. But installing any virus checker is not enough you have to make sure that you get the latest one and also ensure that you keep updating it regularly so that any new virus that surfaces on the internet is taken care of your virus checker and a hundred new threats surface every day. The idea is not to create a scary picture but to drive home the point that at less than five dollars a month you are protecting yourself from something that can spread like an epidemic in the computer world. |
